That the Prime Minister of New Zealand is' an ardent Imperialist -, is Well-known. His. Imperialism asserts itself more particularly when he ]] is about to pay a visii; to the Old Country. In our own Parliament he is a politician Of expediency' pure, and simple. iHe does nothing to encourage trade within the Empire. He sees no necessity for. removing the protective- duty from British-made goods. He even passes shipping legislation which hampers British trade. And while he is singing "Rule' Britannia!" and ;waving the British flag, he is negotiating .with; a German company for tthe supply, of; wireless (telegraph apparatus.
