THE ENGINEER'S WORK.
There are a great many burgesses of Masterton who are probatory;, ;not aware that important engineering works ih#ve been carried out of late by Mr W.'-T. Mansfield, the retiring Engineer, at both ithe head-works of the water supply and the outfall of the sewage. It is safe to say that these works have.savjed ,the Borough hundreds, possibly (thousands of poudds. And they have been carried: out quietly and' effectively, .wjthou/t any blare of trumpets or appeal lor"• special funds. Ify the work don©: is followed- up by" Mr Mansfield's successor, and is carefully guarded, the Borough will have an asset left, it by a gentStlenian whose engineering skill has probably hot been appreciated by all at its full value. -'.
