AND SAVINGS BANK DEPOSITORS. (Received Last Night, 10 o'clock.) LONDON, January 27; One hundred and sixty-four thousand Savings Bank depositors hold £23,000,000 worth of consols. At many 'bank meetings in London a feature of the discussions was the depreciation of consols. Speakers favoured popularising this security. Lord St. Aldwyn, presiding over a Joint Stock and Bank meeting, favoured £5 bonds issuable, through the Post Office.
