RAILWAY PICNIC.
A: most enjoyable* picnic "\?a& held by- the members of the Railway Service of Mastertpn yesterday, .at Mr Holmes' bush on the Matahiwi Estate, which,' by the kind permission of Mr Holmes, wds placed at their disposal for the occasion. ' A very pleasant day was spent, and a programme of races for young and old was gone'through, to the great pleasure of all concerned- About ninety people were present, including the wives and children of. the members of the railway and;; the happy faces it was evident .that all had thoroughly enjoyed themselves. ...The staff desire to thank the business people of Mastertpn for gifts of prizes for the races, also Mr Tom Holland, Mr H. Cole, Mr W. Whittaker, and "Messrs Fly and Young, who generously provided conveyances, and especially Mr Holmes, who so kindly gave permission for the picnic to be hefd on his property.
