SWIMMING CARNIVAL.
j IN MASTERTON TO-DAY. I The annual aquatic carnival under the: auspices of .the Wairarapa Amateur Swimming takes place in 5 the Park Lake at Masterton to-day. A large number of visiting competitors arrived on Saturday night. Should the weather remain fine, the gathering of to-day will be an unprei eedented success. . Altogether there J are sixty-three competitors, and most of the events will be very keenly ' contested. Apart from the attractI ivo programme for adults,' there are |. jip. than seven, events ;in which i school-boys may compete. A fireI "works the evening.
