HIGH COMMISSIONER'S WORK. LIFT TO IMMIGRATION. (Received Last Night 10.45 o'clock.) LONDON, January 17. It was understood far and wide that Australia'was desirous of adding to its population. .There was no such prejudice in Australia against Englishmen as existed in Canada, where it was often announced, English need apply." "We hear good accounts," adds the Globe, "of settlers in Australia. No advertisement equals private home letters from contented settlers.
