TROUBLE WITH FIREMEN.
' MOKOIA'S EXPERIENCE AT. By Telegraph — Press Association. GISBORNE, Last Night. The steamer Mokoia, from Auckland, was three hours' late in arriving yesterday owing -to trouble with firemen. Captain McLean stated that the delay was caused through a number of firemen being intoxicated and not being able" to fire the ship properly. Some had refused to work and been logged, and were liable to be prosecuted. The vessel on arrival had hardly sufficient steam to work the cargo, and, it was 3.30 this morning before she-..took' her vdeparture for the south, passengers thus missing the Wellington express at Napier.
