The public park is an ideal spot for a picnic, and the Caledonian Society has made special provision for the supply of hot water to picnic parties. The sports on Monday should attract visitors from all parts of the district. Those who are fond of racing will, doubtless, proceed to Tauherenikau, where the Wairarapa Racing Club's summer meeting will be held. There are splendid acceptances, and a good day's sport should result. The train arrangements are convenient. The annual picnic of the Masterton Methodist Sunday School will be held on Monday. Mr Macara has kindly given the use of his property at. Akura for the picnic. A good programme of sports and races has been drawn up, and a good day's outing should result.
