A'very good day's shooting; (clay birds) was experienced at Martinborough on Tuesday, when the Gun Club held its big shoot. The chief match was the £2O event, which was Avon by 0. Benton after a long contest. Second and third moneys, x.% and £4, were tied for by E. Warrington,' D. Sullivan, and J. Robertson, and these three divided. The shooting, on the whole, was not up to the average, but special mention should bo made of Messrs Hughes (Pahiatua), and Harris (Martinborough), two very young shooters, who comported themsolyes throughout the day with' distinction, failing only' as the long drawn match drew to a close.
