"METHINKS HE PROTESTS TOC MUCH."
The "Black Pamphlet' is being devoted to a purpose for viich it was obviously not intended. It is being "ridden to death" by the friends of both the Prime Minister and the Leader of the Opposition. Sir Joseph Ward's friends are pouring out sympathy by the gallon at the "scandalous attack" that has been made upon the Prime Minister by the author of the notorious "Black Pamphlet." supporters of Mr Massey, on the other hand, are bestowing quarts, if not gallons of sympathy upon tiie Leader of the Opposition on account of the "scandalous attempt" that has. been made, to associate his party with the pamphlet. The sympathy game is being -played on - both sides for all it is worth. A discriminating public however, knows just what value to place upon this political game. There is too much of the "injured innocence" about.it.
