MASTERTON HOSPITAL.
I THE SEPTIC TANK. f The report of the Masterton Hos* pital Committee on the question of the sanitary arrangements and the disposal of the effluent from the septic tank at the Masterton Hospital, was read at the meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday. The Committee reported that the cost of making the requisite improvements was estimated at £BO. It was imprac;icable to connect the Masterton drainage system. Plans and specifications had been prepared by Messrs Varnham and Rose, but these were subject to slight alterations. After some discussion, in which it was poimed out by Mr Fisher that the work was urgent, it was decided, on the motion of Mr Mos?, that the Masterton Committee be empowered to proceed with the work, providing that the plans are approved by the Health Department, and that the coit does not exceed the amount allocated for the work, viz., £132.
