At a meeting of the Borough Coun cil held last evening, the question of extending the water and drainage system to the boundary of the new school was again discussed. The position at present is this: The Education Board and property owners interested will not contribute onMhird of the cost of the work as asked by the Council, so matters are practically at a deadlock. One solution of the difficulty, from an economical point of view, is to connect through Mr Tosswill's property, and a deputation is to interview that gentleman on Saturday afternoon in regard to the matter. Another game was played yesterday afternoon on the local bowling green for the President's trophy, between Mr White-Scott, 12 points, and Mr J. A.
