PERSONAL.

Mr James Kenyon, an ''old identity" of New Plymouth, died in the Hospital on Monday morning, from pneumonia. He was admitted to the Hospital on Saturday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Sansom, of Avondale, celebrated their golden wedding on November 2nd. Mr Sansom arrived hi Auckland in 1841, and on leaving school was apprenticed to the New Zealander newspaper, afterwards joining the ataii : of the Southern Cross.

The Rev. J. H. Mackenzie, of Nelson, who has been elected Moderator of the Presbyterian Assembly of New Zealand, in succession to the Rev. I. Jolly, was installed in office at Auckland last night.

In the Northland Presbyterian Church, Wellington, last week, a quiet wedding was celebrated by the Rev. A. C. W. Standage, when Miss Christina .McDougall Tait, who has lately arrived from Glasgow, Scot-' land, was married to Mr Peter * Shankland, now of Carterton, but also of Glasgow. The wedding took place from the residence of the bridegroom's uncle, Mr Alexander McKay, late Government Miologist, where the wedding breakfast was partaken. Mr and Mrs Shankland have taken up their residence in Carterton.

His Lordship. Bishop Wallis left Mastorton for the North by the midday train yesterdav.

The funeral of the late Mrs P. Carr took place in Masterton yesterday afternoon. The ceremony at the graveside was performed by*the Rev. W. Raine.

It is officially announced that Yice-Admiral George King-Hall succeeds Vico-Admiral Sir Richard Poore as Commander-in-Chief of the Australian station.

Mr D. Buick, M.P., was a visitor to the races at Clareville yesterday. He returned to Wellington in the afternoon.
