EXPORT OF HORSES.
The export trade in horses continues from New Zealand, and the country is stid being scoured for suitable animals for the Australian market. A return prepared by the Live-stock and Meat Division of the Agricultural Department states that the number of horses exported from the Dominion to Australia in the year ending March 31st last was 1972, comprising 152 stallions, 1090 mares, and 730 geldings. The export since that date has been on an even larger scale, and still continues. The demand has been created by the extraordinary development of agriculture in the Commonwealth.
