FIRES.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, Last Night. On Saturday night a fire broke out in a ten-roomed house in Brewster street, owned by E. W. Knowles, and occupied by R. W. Goldsmith. It started in the upper storey, and was caused by a curtain being blown against a lighted candle. lhe excellent work of the Fire Brigade saved the lower portion of the building. The furniture was insured for £2OO, and the house, valued at £650, for £450, in the United office. DUNEDIN, Las{ Night. Lang's dwelling, bakery and stables atOutram were destroyed by fire last night. The insurances on the buildings were £3OO, and on the furniture and fittings £IOO.
