The weather still continues very dry, and settlers are becoming anxious. It iB many years since the hills had such a appearance at this time of the year. The ewes are weak, and it is feared the wool clip will not be up to the usual standard, both in weight and quality. Dr. .Aicßae has taken over Dr. Gunn's practice, and the latter has started practice in Carterton. Shearing started at Annedale yesterday, and several other sheds will be in full swing in a few days.
