The supply of milk at the Cheese Factory has now increased to 1000 gallons. A second assistant was appointed at the beginning of the week, and the two vats are now being worked. Sixty cases of cheese were sent away on Thursday last. ! During the early part of the week, the weather was mild and calm, and there was a marked improvement in the growth, of the grass, whi.h. in spite of the promises of early spring, has not come up to farmers' expectations. On Friday a change took place, and the strong north-westerly winds, which have since prevailed, have been accompanied by intermit-, tent showers. Several residents from this district journeyed to Carterton in order to attend the Wairarapa Show. The Rev. Walker, of Eketahuna, conducted a service in the Schoolroom on Sunday afternoon.
