MASTERTON'S MEMBER.
We hasten to say that, from tho bottom of their disappointed hearts, every man and woman in the Masterton electorate, of mature age, will agree with Mr. A. W. Hogg,, M.P., wiicn he states that a member should vote on an important national question according to his convictions. It is, as he says, humiliating that members should be placed in the position of being taunted and threatened that works would not be gone on with in their, district . because they voted against the Government. But has not this been the case ever since the Grout Liberal Party assumed the reins of office in this politicallystricken country? Has- not Mr. Hogg himself lived and thrived politically upon tho loaves and fishes policy,' which has degraded our Parliamentary system? He is right in j what he says, but .
