NO-LICENSE DISTRICTS
IMPORTATION OF LIQUOR. In reply to a question in thegLegiElative Council on Wednesday, the Hon. Dr. Findlay gave the opinions of various Inspectors of Police concerning the effects of No-License in the Dominion. He also quoted the following figures giving the total of all classes of liquor imported into No-License areas (fractions omitted) :- Asbhurton 22,291 gallons Bruce 16,325 gallons Clutha 12,479 gallons Eden 20,935 gallons Grey Lynn 5946 gallons Invercargill 78,283 gallons Masterton 26,547 gallons Mataura 39,723 gallons Oamaru 20,260 gallons Ohinemuri 33,658 gallons Wellington South 14,697 gallons Wellirgton Suburbs 12,170 gallons The Hon. G. Jones complained that the figures were of little use for purposes of comparison, because the amount of liquor conisumed under license was not given. Later in the day he gave notice to ask for such a return,
