CARTERTON.

On account of not being ah'e to procure day pigeons at Wellington or Dunedin, the local Gun Club have had to postpone their monthly sbcof, 33 it will be over a week yet before pigeons will be available. 'J his is somewhat cissppointing to the merrbarp, as a match for a dinner was being arranged between ths Garterton and district members , against the Taumata members. The Club has also a trophy from the W.F.C.A. to compete for, an! Mr D. MacGoun, the well known dentist, has presented one hundred Ballistite cartridges as a second prize. Interest in the Carterton Egg Circle is growing keener, and the members are getting anxious for the starting day. Mr D. Reid presided at a meeting of the committee on Wednesday evening, when the matter of agents' commission was gone into, and the chairman and secretary were appointed to interview the Wairarapa Circle on the matter. It is hoped to make a start on Monday week,', with a consignment of. over 300 dozen. The Circle has a membership of nearly fifty, one third of whom will participate in the first consignment.
