TWENTY LIVES LOST. Received September 10, 1,50 a.m. VANCOUVER, September 9. The car ferry at Pere Maraueite, Lake Michigan, foundered, causing the twenty lives. Thirty passengers were rescued. FUKTHER DETAILS. Received Last Night, 5.5 o'clock. OTTAWA, September 11. The freight of "cars aboard the ferry boat became loosened in a gale, and ripped the sides of the vessel. By the use of wireless telegraphy, assistance was s?cured from the shore. The freight of cars was jettisoned, and an < ffort was made to lighten the sinking vessel. The Pere Marquette lifeboat saved forty-five of those on board. Ona of the lifeboats crashed into the ferry boat and capsized, two lives being lost in consequence. THIRTY DROWNED. Received this morning, 12.10 o'clock. VANCOUVER, September 11. Thirty lives were lost in the oar ferry disaster.
