DALEFIELD.
The "Kiwi" Hockey Club held their annual ball on Thursday, the Bth inst. Over sikty couples were present, including visitors from Cartertoii and other parts of the district. The hall was decorated with nikau palms and flax. t Music was supplied by the Messrs Berrill and Crawley, and extras were played by Misses Brown, Neilsen, and Messrs Fairbrother and Rayner. Miss O'Donovan rendered the song, "Ireland."The M.'sC. were Messrs Taylor, August, and Gallon. The. ball was in every respect a pronounced success. The president and vice-presidents &f tile Dalefield Football Club intend giving a ball in honour of tbe team which this year won the championship. The event, which takes place on the 21st inst., is being looked forward to with considerable interest. The many friends of Mr J. Standen will regret to hear that heis rather seriously iH, and the services | of a doctor have been requisitioned. There are at present fifty-eight . suppliers of milk to the local factory. The milk received daily has i now reached about 2000 gallons. . j
