KOPUARANGA.
An epidemic of influenza is prevalent among liorses here in a very severe form. Three deaths of valuable horses have been reported. Mr J. Clark, one of the riders in the Timaru to Chnistclrarch bicycle race, left here en route for Sydney this morning to take part in two long-distance races there. The New Zealand Dairy Union Creamery opened on the first of the month with a medium supply, which is rapidly increasing. The sawmill situated in Donovan Bros, bush, which is just about cut out, closes down in three weeks. Orchardists are finding out the ! benefit derived from spraying the trees. The spray pumps at work is to be seen here much more this season than in former years. Montauk and Bordeaux sprays are most commonly used.
