CONFLICTING STORIES, Received September 9, 10 a.m. LONDON, September 8. 'lhe hearing of evidence against Hawley Crippen and Ethel Laneve. the former charged with the mu der of his wife at Camden Road n February last, and the latter with an accessory after £the fact, was continued at Bow Street P lice Court. Witnesses deposed that Crippen had purchased, in the name of the Munyon Company, for which at «>ne time he was London manager, a poison called hyoacine.' It was also stated that conflicting stories relating to wages and to the disappearance of his wife had been told by Crippen. h Chief-Inspector Dew, who n arreated Crippen and Leneve in Canada, produced a statement in which Crippin allegfs that nu«rrhge he went to America, and on returning four.d his wife's manner towards him changed. Later she stated she was fond of another man,
