ANOTHER MINISTERIAL REBUFF. Mr A. W. Hogg, m:p., has received the following letter from the frime Minister:— General Post Office, Wellington, Bth J, September. 1910. —Sir,—ln reply letter of ths 9th ulf., suggesting that a motor-car be used on the railway line between Wellington and the Wairarapa for the conveyance of mails in L the eaxly morning, I have the honour to inform you that the matter was refered to the Railway Department, which states that the train service on the Wellington-Wairarapa line is more than sufficient to deal with the existing traffic, and expresses regret that the proposal that a motor-car-riage should be run at heavy cost for the conveyance of mails cannot be entertained. —I have, etc., J. G. WARD, Postmaster General."
