PROMINENT FLOCK OWNERS AND THEIR METHODS OF MANAGEMENT.

It is to the more enterprising pastoralists that the budding sheepowner should look as an example. The methods which have secured success for the men who stand on top are the most likely to prove successful to others. We have just been advised by Mr John A. Macfarlane, of Ben Lomond, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, that he ha* been a user of Quibell's Powder Dip for a number of years on his flock, and that the results he has obtained from its use have been superior to anything he has had j during the quarter of a century _in which he has been identified with the management of sheep in the Dominion. ,

As most sheep-owners are aware, last season was specially favourable for the increase of parasitic filth to which sheep are liable, yet Mr Macfarlane informs us that he did not see a single tick during his entire shearing, an experience which is without a parallel in that part of the country. As a natural consequence his wool came off in splendid order, as evidenced by the fact that his clip topped the January sales in Napier, realising the handsome figure of Is 23d. A similar price was realised by Mr L. M'Lean, for his % Glenco wool, which was also Quibell dipped.*
