LADIES* CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY.
WAIRARAPA AND TARANAKI DRAW.
By Telegraph—Special to Age. NELSON, Last .Night. Perfect weather prevailed for the of the New Zealand Ladies' Championship Tournament. The games were slow after the exciting contests at the latter end of last week.
Auckland beat Greymouth by 3 to nil.
Hawke'a Bay put up a record score in the tournament matches by defeating Wettport by 9 goals to nil.
Wanganui defeated Wellington A by one goal to nil.
Otago scored an easy victory over Wellington B by seven goals to nil. Taranaki played a draw against Wairarapa. neither side scoring; but the latter did not play anything like the game they did against Hawke's Bay. From the bully Mifs McCalmont passed to Miss N. O'Leary, who hit into Taranaki's 25, and after some fast play Taranaki forwards took play to Wairarapa, quarters 1 . Miss Z. Humphries was prominent in dribbling it to Taranaki's #5, but Miss B. Ogilvie reand Miss Winks centering, play Jollowed on Wairarapa's line. Having cleared, Miss N. O'Leary put in a good, dribble, but Taranaki returned !in good style, Miss Muir saving with a fine hit. Taranaki continued to press, Miss Winks having a shot. Wairarapa returned to the attack, Miss Gazeley being prominent, and Misses Winks and McEwan took play to Wairarapa's quarters. Miss Z. Humphries was prominent in another attack on the Taranaki line, and Miss Winks saved from the circle. Misa McEwan rushed back only to see Miss Terry relieved with a fine dribble to Taranaki's 25, but a I good rush right into the Wairarapa goalgwas saved. Miss Ashton then passed across to Miss Z. Humphries, : who put Taranaki on the defence. Wairarapa was attacking strongly at half time. On opening, Wairarapa attacked, Miss Z. Humphries having a shot, but Miss' Winks relieved with a fine hit. Later the same player distinguished herself by turning a hot Wairarapa attack to midfield. Wairarapa continued to press, Miss Ashton having a shot. Fast play up and down the field followed, and Taranaki made Btrenuous]|efforts to score. Miss Muir saved shortly after, and Miss Winks made another desperate effort to reach the goal. Further give and take play followed, and the goalkeeper again saved splendidly. The game ended with Wairarapa attack ing
