FUNDS OP THE WORKERS

Oniy one-third of the employees in the shipbuilding trade under the Employers' Federation are affected by the lockout The remainder are In full employment, including those vilh Belfast and Thames firms.
Five places on the Clyde are able to subscribe towards those locked
The Boilermakers' Association has asßets amounting to £135.U00. Of this amount, £20,000 will he iratnediattly available. The rest, including £84,000 or a superannuation fund, will take s'x monhs to realise. The iockuut allowance will be 12s per wc.ek.
The emplojera are not asking for a financial guarantee, but will not ailow work to be resumed until satisfactory arrangements are made and assurances given in regard to future working.
The Times is of Opinion that the increasing briskness of trade and shortness of funds will favour a short strike.
