SCHOOL BUILDINGS INSURANCE.

The Education Department'has had many of its schools destroyed by fire, and the loss has fallen ! on the country. Now the Department has notified the Boards under its control that in respect of a<ay buildings over twenty years old destroyed by fire, the Board 1 will - be required to - provide a . proportion of the cost of;erection of new buildings. This will necessitate the Boards enr teriiig into 'an insurance scheme to cover the extent of their liability. The wonder is that the Government, with its State Fire Insurance Office, has not entered into an arrangement by which the whole of the school buildings of the Dominion , are covered by insurance.
