GREYTOWN.

I am sorry to have to report the serious illness of Mr W. Brooks, who is suffering from a severe attack of pneHimonia. Many of your readers will know Mr Brooks, who has been fruit vendor on the Wairarapa train for a great number of years. A sitting of the Native Land Court is to be held in Greytown about the first week in September. Timber is being placed on the Ahiakouka property of Mr Miller, who contemplates building at an early date. A number of the settlers went in for growing mangolds this season, and in most instances good crops resulted, but as tfie dairy farmers were feeding their stock on this particular crop the supply was not equal to idle demand.
