The success of the Kia Toa Hockey team in the ladies' aeven-aside tournament at Carterton on Thursday adds another or the long list of successes "our girls" have achieved. The Age Cup, Hughes' Shield and Bolton Cup at present held by this club are on view in the Public Reading Koom.
Dairy farmers in the North Wairaiapa are going in for maize growing to considerable extent this year. The successful contractors for the additions to the Greytown Hospital, Messrs Coradine and Whittaker, of Master ton, have already commenced carting the material for the new Jjuilding, It is rumoured that an attempt will be made to upset the Gas Loan Poll en tlie grounds of alleged irregularity in the polling booth. Mr F. E. Nottage, Government Orchard Instructor, will give a de- ' monstration of spraying and pruning in a local orchard on 'lhursday.
