A DELICIOUS RECIPE.
O Cuferant Tea-Cake.—Cream onefourth of a cupfal of butter and add gradually while beating constantly one-third of a cupful of sugar ; then add one egg well beaten. Mix and sift two one third cupfuls of our, one half teaspoonfuls of salt, tfnd four teaspoonfuls of baking powedr. Add to fir-st mixture alternately with one cupful of milk, then stir in twothirds of a cupful of fresh curranlrs mixed with one third of a cupful of flour. Bake in buttered individual tins in a moderate oven. This tea-cake is very delicious and should be served with one or other of the standard brands of teas of the Empire Tea Company. The " Dragon" Brand at 2s 3d per lb is a rich fragrant tea with plenty of body, and is particularly suitable for afternoon teas. It is the highest grade tea on the market. The "Elephant" Brand 2s 2d per lb possesses a very pleasing flavour, and is a fine strong blended tea. The "New Crescent" Brand at 2s per lb is one of the best teas on the market. It is rich ,strong, and fragrant. It possesses a conspicuous flavour and is fast becoming the universal favorite. Hie "Crescent" Brand at Is 10d per lb, is another tea. of great merit. It brews a strong tawny liquor, and leaves the palate most agreeably. It is a tea that will please most people. The " Mikado" Brand at Is 6d per lb, though cheap in price is not cheap in quality. It is a good family tea with a distinct flavour. The Empire Tea Company's Teas can be obtained from all grocers. Upon a little pony, tie felt a little hoarse ,of course, And said so to a crony.
