CANDIDATES' DEPOSITS.

The Commonwealth Senate haß already established its claim to be regarded as up-to date in Democratic legislation. One of its first acts has been to institute a paper currency, which will, of course, make money so plentiful and common that people will almost despise it! Now it intends wiping out that obnoxious invention of the capitalist, the deposit required of candidates who aspire to Parliamentary honour. Its next move will probably be to abofiah first-class carriages in all trains, remove the dress circle from theatres, and prevent any person from having a cushioned pew in a church. These Labour politicians are after the scalps, right enough!
