MR HINE'S CHARGES.
The categorical charges made in the House of Representatives on Wednesday by Mr Hine, M.P. for Stratford, will, unless they are thoroughly investigated and cleared up, leave a most unpleasant suspicion in the minds of the people. A charge directly implicating gentlemen who have occupied seats in the Parliament of the Dominion in the acceptance of monetary rewards for intervention with the Government, cannot be lightly passed over. It is too serious a matter to be regarded with indifference. The J honor of our Parliamentary institutions demands that a rigid enquiry be held by an independent and competent tribunal.
