DARING YOUTHS.
RAID CHINESE HOUSE. THE REVOLVER USED. Three Chinese at Faraparaumu were molested on Sunday in a way which furnished residents with considerable excitement. It is alleged that two youths named Charles King and Frank Dean, aEed seventeen and eighteen respectively, burst upon them and demanded money, backing up their request, it is said, by pointidg a loaded revolver at the occupants of the house and threatening to shoot if their demands wera not complied with. The Chinese fled in terror from the house. King and Dean left soon after, without having taken anything from the dwelling. By this time the Chinese had regained their composure somewhat, and, being reinforced, made a move In the direction of apprehending the youths. This the latter resented, and King is said to have fired at one of the pursuers with a six chambered revolver, fortunately without injury to anyone. Constable Satherley and residents of the district gave chase, Dean being arrested at Paraparaumu. He was handcuffed and given into the custody of civilians, while the constable went after King, who he came up with at Waikanae. lhe latter was soon apprehended'without much difficulty.
