SALAMIS ARRIVES AT MELBOURNE.
TERRIFIC WEATHER.
PASSENGERS INJURED.

The Salamis, which has arrived here from London after being four days out, encountered terrific weather.
The passengers were frequently hurled from their feet.
A mother, with her baby, was thrown violently. Tha baby's leg was broken. Of the other passengers one sustained a fractured wrist, anrt another a sprained ankie^ IN NOB-THERN WATERS. I■. The Times's Toronto correspondent states that the United States has authorised Americans whaling in northern waters to disregard Canada's claims of sovereignty in tno?e waters, and offers protection to United States fishermen refusing to pay a license fee to Canada or to recognise Graat Britain's sovereignty.
