J Doctor Porer, Jeffries physician, examined Johnson and remarked that I he was a magnificent example of the i athlete, but physically uncomparable with Jeffries. Johnson's heart and lungs are weaker; ahu he had a long stretch of bone unprotected by muscle between the hip and tha lowest ribs. Jeffries, he savp, ia in perfect physical condition, ir.side and outside. Johnson is grateful for the spiritual encouragement of the nergo pastirs.
i Hundreds of Pull (nan cars are side | tracked at Reno and are bei-ig used 'i a3 hotels, as beds are unavailable. 1 Johnson yesterday toxed before the cinematograph, the two opponents j chiefly clinching and posing, before | a vast crowd of onlookers, consisting 'of ruiners, ranchmen, cowhoys, cowj girls, and gaudily dresssed negresses. i Johnson's wife was present. Johnson backed himself for another £4OO, remarking "I shall worry Jeffries for i fifteen rounds and then knock him j out. But I would sooner be a dead | man than let Jeffries beat me." j Jeffries' preparation is finished, and he spends his time fishing and card playing. He says, "1 am dead sure to win " Johnson scales 209 lbs, and Jeffries about 16!bs heavier. TIME OF THE FIGHT. HOUR OF STARTING TN NEW ZEALAND. RESULT SHOULD I'E KNOWN BEFORE NOON.
