PAHIATUA STOCK SALE.
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their uaual fortnightly sale in the Pahiatua Farmers' yarda on Tuesday, 31st May, when they are pleased to report that all classes of stock, viz., sheep and cattle, came forward well above advertised numbers. Although the bidding was not brisk for sheep they sold their yarding, but competition for cattle was fairly keen, and they also in this line, sold their yarding. Buyers were present from all over the district, which proves that the sales held here are going ahead. They quote as follows:—Sheep.—Lambs, culled/3s 3d to 3s 6d; fat and forward ewes to 9s 9d. Cattle. —Dairy heifers, due factory dates, £4 to £4 18s; backward heifers in calf, £2 17s 6d to £3 12s; cows due factory dates, not guaranteed, £3 7s to £3 lis; a good line of steers, 3 years off, brought £4 17s 6d; odd lots, as steers, heifers , stags and bulls, brought their full value. Their next sale will be held next Tuesday, in the Manghao yards, when they will have a good yarding of all classes of sheep and cattle.
