WANGANUI NOTES.

The Native Minister, who left today for Wellington, met the upriver natives at Jerusalem, and pro' pounded to them a scheme of cooperative farming under direction of a European manager, which the natives accepted. The idea is that the natives will supply their "own' labour, and Bhare in the profils according tojthe work they do. The Customs returns for May total £5,516, an increase of nearly £BOO as compared with the corresponding month of last year. Trie employers' Association today decided to observe Friday as a holiday. >
