FIRE AT STRATFORD.
A GOOD SAVE. By Telegraph—Press Association. STRATFORD, May 28. A fire broke out in Broadway early this morning in Abraham Cook's tailoring shop, gutting the premises and spreading to adjoining properties. The prompt action of the Brigade arreated the progress of the fire. York Chambers were damaged to the extent of between £2OO and £3OO. The insurances on the destroyed or damaged properties are—Sun, Cook's stock, £200; J. W. Simmonds' fittings, £80; J. H. Thompson's fittings, £4B; York Chambers, £700; and Bendall's stock, £IOO. In Australian Alliance, Bendall, £100; in Commercial Union, £l5O on Cook's buildings, and in the Royal £2OO on Simmond's buildings.
