Peary, is in London. Interviewed, he said he had finished his field work, either in the Arctic or Antarctic, and had achieved the <um to which he had devoted twsntvfive years of his life.—

Exploration, he said, in the' Arctic was more difficult than in the Antarctic, because the ice in the Polar Sea broke ®up annually, destroying ail trails and caches, while Antarctic explorers bad a permanent surface to travel over. He' believed Captain Scott would reach the South Pole without much difficulty, unless his crew fell ill ship was wrecked.
