LORD PLUNKET ILL.
FAUEWFM, ENGAGEMENTS CANCELLED.
COMPLETE REST ORDERED,
By Telegraph—Press Association TOKAANO, May 3.
His Excellency Lord Plunket came to Tokaanu on April 22nd, intending to have a few days' fishing and rest, during his final tour of the Dominion, having been travelling most of the time since Her Excellency's departure for England.
Two days after his arrival the Governor contracted a severe chill. Although there is nothing serious the matter, and Lord Plunket is slightly better, his medical advisers insist upon complete rest for at least a week. His Excellency consequently is obliged to cancel all engagements for the near future, and to abandon his intended tour through Rotorua, Te Puke, Tauranga, Katikati. Waihi, Paeroa Te Aroha and Haimlton. The Governor wishes it to be known that with very ereat regret he is unable to fulfil his engagements and have an opportunity of bidding farewell to Ihe people in the places mentioned, but the doctor's orders leave no other alternative. His Excellency, however, hopes to be able to carry out Masonic engagements id Wellington on May 11th and 12th. and afterwards to be well enough to tour the West Coast of the North Island as previously arranged.
