WEATHER FORECAST.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 2. The Rev. D. C. Bates' summary and forecast are as follow : Strong westerly .winds have prevailed about and south of Cook Strait, with rain and floods in the rivers on the West Const. Fair •weather prevailed in lh« North, but changeable weathei elsewhere. The barometer has continued high in the North, but has been unsteady and lower in the South. Present indications are for a falling l-arorceter everywhere, moderate to strong easterly winds northward of Esst Capa and Kawhia, and fair weather, but freshening northerlies and increasing cloudiness, with more unsettled weather elsewhere.
