AMUSEMENTS.
THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES. On Saturday afternoon Messrs Thompson and Payne presented the first of a series of free matinees for children, and the building was crowded with expectant youngsters. The programme was exactly the same as at night, and was thoroughly enjoyed by the little ones. The proprietors intend to give their free entertainments every Saturday afternoon until - further notice. To-night the usual change of pictures will be presented, among which are some of the following subjects:— "In the Window Kecess," a beautiful drama by the well-known American Biograph Company": "Hie Devil Woman," a star drama; "Was Justice Served"; "The Kingdom of Lilliput," an fantastic comedy, following on the lines of Gulliver's travels; "Fistella, the Bandit's Daughter"; "Bear; Hunting in the Arctic," and the< usual comic 3, headed by "Calino's Fire Extingusher." j
