HAWKE'S SAY ITEMS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. NAPIER, Monday. The Hawke's Bay County Council to-day met for the first time in offices in the new two-storey building, which they have erected in reinforced concrete at the corner of Browning and Herschell streets. Wimmera has been scratched for both of the fiist day's engagements at the Hawke's my Jockey Club' 3 autumn meeting. At the Magistrate's Court, to-day, Edward Sexton, was charged with street betting, on horse races. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
