WAIRARAPA NURSERIES
The tree-planting season is now at hand, and those contemplating securing supplies during the present season should be interested in an announcement made elsewhere by Mr E. Hale, proprietor of the wellknown "Wairarapa Nurseries," at Lansdowue, Masterton. Special preparations have been made this year, and it is worthy of mention that in view of the busy season, the stock is the largest ever grown at the nurseries. A special feature of the trees grown at the "Wairarapa Nurseries" and one that should not be overlooked, is that they are all ac climatised, and can be depended upon to thrive well in any part of the Wairarapa, owing to their hardy and robust nature. The stock of shelter and forest trees which runs somewhere in the vicinity of 20,000. include such notable varieties as pinus insignas and muricata, En«<ish larch, Norway spruce, lawsoniana, and wellingtcnia, whilst the hfcdge trees comprise silver matipo, escallonia, eleganus and a splendid assortment of healthy laurel?. The fruit trees include pood commercial sorts of apples such as Cox's Orange, Sturmer, Juhnathon, Monro's Favourite, Branley's seedling (new variety), plums, peaches and apricots. In small fruits there are gooseberries, currants and strawberries, including Cresswell's seedling, which variety produces two crops a year - one each in spring and autumn. '
