STOCK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Masterton sale held yesterday as follows:—A full lyarding of stock was submitted to a representative gathering of settlers. The tone of the sheep market was ; better than at our last sale, and nearly all lota were disposed of at auction at prices in favour of sel lers. In cattle a heavy yarding of good steers and bullocks were sub- j mitted, competition being animated throughout, the bulk of the cattle entries being purchased by South Wairarapa buyers. We quote :--Fat ewes, lis to 12s 4d; 2 and 4-tooth ewes, medium, lis to 12s 3d; sound- * young breeding ewes, 9s 5d to lis; store ewes, 5s to 7s 4d; cull ewes, 2s 4d to 4s' sd; lambs, of which there was a large offering, 6s id to 8s 4d ; cull lambs, 3s lid to ss; wethers, best, 13s Id; others, 10s to 12s 9d. Best bullocks, £6 16s to £7 6s; others, £5 7s to £5 14s, according to quality and condition; 2a and 3-year steers, £4 lis to £5 1 a; 2-year steers, £2 19s to £3 15s; fat cows, £3 15s to £4 ss; store heifers, £2 Is to £3.
