Sir James Mills (chairman of the Union Steamship Company) states that consequent on the loss of the Waikare at Dusky bound, xhe company will build another vessel of the Marama type. The Aorangi, recently purchased by the Union Company from the New Zealand Shipping Company, will be thoroughly overhauled and held as a reserve ship. The coal strike, says Sir James Mills, cost the company between forty and fifty thousand pounds for additional coal supplies.
