THE HUSBAND'S REVENGE. ' Received March 8, 9 a.m. I NEW YORK. March 7. Returning home unexpectedly, John P. Cudahy, a millionaire packer of Chicago, attacke'J. Liliis, a wealthy banker, whom he suspected of intriguing with his wife, and inflicted a number of criss-cross cuts with a knife, after biding the banker with a strong rope. Cudahy was arrested, but is out on bail. ANOTHER SENSATION IN NEW YORK. THE WIFE'S EXPLANATION. CUDAHY ARRESTED. i Received March 8, 11.5 p.m. NEW YORK, March 8. The Liliis case has caused a sensation in America. Liliis is a bachelor, whose age is stated at 97(?) A maid jn uudahy's employ slates that she heard a scuffle and found Liliis on the floor, with a rope round his' neck, and his feet and body stripped from the waist downwards. The chaffeur, who was assisting Cudahy, placed a revolver at her head. She thereupon | fled for the police, who came in response to a telephone message sent by Cudahy's wife. The latter states that the attack on Liliis is the culmination of a long course of Cudahy's I brutality against her. I The "Londun Daily Mail's New York correspondent states that Cu- | dahy's motor car was round aban-) doned three miles irom home. It is ! evident that Liliis was,entrapped. The State Prosecutor has issued a warrant for Cudahy's arrest. Liliis and Cudahy were previous'y intimate friends. (The above message evidently contains an error in regard to Liliis' age).
