SENSATION IN COURT.

CONVICTED MAN SHOOTS HIMSELF.

Received February 18, 12.30 a.m. | SYDNEY, February 17. A man, named David, against whom there were several convictions, including convictions in New Zealand, was charged with stealing at the Quarter Sessions Court. When the jury returned a verdict of "Guilty" David, exclaiming "I am innocent; I die an innocent man," drew a revolver and shot himself in the side, creating a sensation in the court. The judge animadverted on the care lessness of officials for not searching the man. The wound is not believed ! to be serious.
